The Altamont Theatre is quickly becoming known as Asheville's Best Listening Room.  Many artists who have performed here say we are one of maybe a half dozen or so nice listening spaces in the country. 

We present a wide variety of music in a seated listening envionment.  Our audience is mostly made up of music lovers and listeners who come for the music first.  Yes, we do have a bar, but this is not a "bar gig".  The Bar is outside the music room in the lower lobby.  We certainly allow people to bring drinks in the space and they do. 

We program a lot of different forms of entertainment that have included Singer/Songwriters, Blues Bands, Zydeco Dances, Stand-Up Comedy and Bluegrass to name a few.  We have a full green room with a separate dressing room and restrooms and even a shower backstage for the artists.  Thr Altamont Theatre is a very professional environment where we treat artists with respect.  All that we ask in return to give us your best show.  That has been a fantasic formula for us so far.  You can find numerous videos people have shot in our space to get a sense of the quality musicianship we bring to our stage live and in action.

Room Configuration

Our standard configuration 120 seated with approximatly half at tables and the other have seated on risers.   If we go to all chairs then we can go to approximalty 150 seated.  The stage is very low so artists are very close to the audiece, which helps create a very intimate experience.
